What about this model, they are very light, easy to wear, and breathable. Fit as for urban area and for some cross-road.
Would I recommend it for friends? Definitely yes. Especially from Sierra Trading Post, with fast delivery and magnificent customer service. -

They aren't serious trail runners but are great for in-between stuff. I run on roads for a ways then go to trails and these are perfect for that.

They run 1/2 size too small and they felt hard under my feet. Not good for high arches. I run ~400 miles of trails per year ... Ordered the 11.5 US size because most running shoes I am an 11 but other Salomon shoes I am 11.5. Ordered that size and was still too tight. Ordered a size 12 and they fit perfect. So with these Salomom X Mission 2 running shoes, I would recommend ordering 1 full size up. Great shoe when it fits.

This pair was a full size too small. After two pairs, I went with another shoe. I'm pretty sure I would have liked them if they fit.

Hubby has several pairs too. Model ordered varies from year to year but they hold up extremely well and take a beating from a 11 year old that wears them daily as every day shoes. This model runs a half size small (he measures just under a 10.5, but the 11 fit, 10.5 too short) and accommodates a slightly wide foot nicely. Never had problems with the quick lace system and have even been able to hand down a few pairs to other kids as they were still in decent shape once outgrown.

Not true to size on length and width. Ordered a 10 fits like a 9.5 or 9. Spot under the ball of my foot that causes awkward pressure.

These were just too small. Tried one run and my feet were killing, try increasing the size at least by 1/2 and they may work better.
