5.0 out of 5 stars. Very well made and thought out

This pack will cover a # of different situations from day hikes to alpine climbing. I have only used it on training hikes and climbs so far in preparation for some mountaineering trips. The pack itself is comfortable and rides nice and high so not much pressure is on your shoulders. The adjustments on the straps are super easy to use so you can adjust on the fly and make sure it is in the right spot. It holds plenty of stuff for a climb, day trip, or a light over night. It has good straps for an ice ax and trekking poles. It also has lots of little pockets and lash points that you can use to hold various small items. Overall it is a good midsize pack that is comparable but a lot less $ than other brands.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. A very good backpack

I originally bought this backpack to use to carry my climbing gear. Since getting the pack, I've also used it for day hikes and traveling. In all cases, it functioned very well. The main compartment opens at the top and there is a wide opening with an easy to use drawstring. In addition, there is a side zipper for accessing the main compartment that I have used to get to items on the bottom without having to take every out first. The top has an enclosure that has a zippered compartment on the outside and on the inside which was perfect for storing my wallet and cell phone away from prying eyes and fast fingers. The air suspension is very comfortable as were the adjustable chest and hip straps. One nice touch was that the hip straps could be tucked away when I don't need the support. Perfect for when I'm riding the train or bus. The one flaw that I found was that the side elastic pocket for the water bottle was 1/3rd of the size of the standard water bottle. Other than that, what I got was a typical Deuter product-well thought out and finely engineered. Soon, I will be in the market for a bigger pack for longer trips and Deuter will be my first choice.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great value and design

I am a value shopper, hands-down. Sometimes it ends up biting me when I get something that is cheaply made or looks hokey. This pack, however, is probably one of the best purchases I have made from STP. I love the color, the design, and the fit. I am small, 5'2" and 120 lbs, and this pack is perfect for me. It also has many adjustment points, so I'm sure it is adjustable to fit larger, taller people as well. This pack really does have it all: a hydration reservoir, a side pocket for a large water bottle, wide hip straps, a rain cover, and *surprise* an access point to the main compartment through the bottom! I am so excited about this pack and can see using it for a very very long time.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great day pack

This pack is the perfect size for a day hike or for traveling. It has a hydration port, a side water bottle holder and several small compartments. I especially like the side zipper which allows for accessing the bottom of the pack without having to sort through from the top. It's comfortable to carry, but the back's a bit stiff due to the internal frame.
